All Hallows Church, located to the south of Hyde Park, is a venue that we are using for some performances and rehearsals. The nearest buses are the 19, 19A, 49, 50 and 50A running along Burley Road to the south, and the 56 running along Royal Park Road to the north; a walk further south to the Kirkstall Road will also add the 14, 33, 34, 60, 81 and A1 services, further north to Woodhouse Lane will add the 1, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27 and 28. Parking is mostly on-street, with some space on Regent Terrace, Hill Top Road and other surrounding streets – please show consideration for the local residents.
Chapel FM is an arts centre based in East Leeds: we use the venue for the occasional performance or rehearsal, and our members have been involved with projects on the associated East Leeds Community Radio. The venue is on the old York Road, around 6 minutes south of Seacroft Bus Station. The 4 and 16 buses provide a regular service from the city centre, with the 4 also stopping at the Village Green closer to the venue; the 7 to Harrogate and the 840/843 Coastliner services are quicker from the centre, and stop at the Green. The venue is also a 30 minute walk from Cross Gates station. Parking at the venue is limited, but space is available outside on the York Road, around the Village Green or at Tescos by the bus station. See the FAQs on the venue’s website for full details.
We use the function room downstairs at the Crowd of Favours for social events – the pub is located down a side street opposite the York Street end of the bus station, or around ten minutes from the train station. Nearby car parks include the multistories at Victoria Leeds or NCP The Markets; there are also a limited number of spaces in the small council-run car park at Maude Street.
The Community Room is a space in the Leeds John Lewis store which can be booked by charities and community groups, and we use it for rehearsals and meetings. The store is located in the Victoria Gate shopping centre, next to the bus station and the Headrow, or around fifteen minutes from the train station. The nearest car park is the multistory at Victoria Leeds.
As its name suggests, this is a large warehouse space in Holbeck with two performance areas which we use for some large cast rehearsals. Around 30 minutes on foot from Leeds Station, the 55, 55C, 65, 75 and 86 buses run along nearby Top Moor Side between the city centre and Beeston or Elland Road. Free on-street parking is available on the roads nearby, but the venue request that cars are only left on Crosby Street, Ingram Road, or Shafton Lane to avoid causing problems for residents on other streets. Access for rehearsals is usually from Crosby Street; for performances, entry is usually from Rydall Place.
In addition to the two performance spaces at the Carriageworks, we also use the rehearsal rooms at the venue – which is located in the city’s Civic Quarter, around ten minutes on foot from the train station or fifteen minutes from the bus station. Nearby car parks include the council-run Woodhouse Lane, the Rose Bowl under Leeds Beckett University, or Q-Park at The Light.
We use the Fox and Newt for social events and rehearsals – the pub is located on Burley Street near Leeds City College, around 20 minutes on foot from the train station. The 19, 19A, 49, 50 and 50A buses stop almost outside, whilst a walk down to the Kirkstall Road will add the 14, 33, 34, 60, 81 and A1 services. Nearby council car parks include Burley Road and West Street (at the other end of Marlborough Street, by the Wellington Street Viaduct); there is also free on-street parking on Burley Street and nearby Marlborough Street after 6.30pm.
We use the function room upstairs at The Pack Horse for some of our play readings – the pub is just off the Briggate, ten minutes’ walk from the train and bus stations. Nearby car parks include Trinity Leeds on Swinegate, and Q-Park on Albion Street, Sovereign Square or at The Light.
